An American Barbecue Pilgrimage

One writer from Slate and a week of nothing but barbecue. A great story if you're a meat eater. Let summer begin!

Dispassionate postings

I think I've run into a problem. My blog is nice historical reference, but it really give no insight in to anything particular. If you read the blog or have read it, you'll notice that I am a moderate to liberal Democrat and that I have read too much news during the US Presidential election. If you're wondering I still spend much of my free time reading news and occasionally off researching random topics for my own personal amusement. I have now chosen not to record much of it because Google News is better that I am.

Now the problem becomes, what to do with my blog? What can I spend my time writing original thoughts on the state of the planet or my mind. However, I rarely feel so passionate about a subject as to record for future reference. If you know me you may think I am misrepresenting the truth, but in reality no. You may know my rants, but the hidden fact is that most of the rants (well the funny ones) are actually future stand up routines.

I've been honing my stills over time so that I may live up to my natural presence. When I tell horribly long stories with random details, unnatural pauses, and trailing, almost unnoticable ends; those are the stories that are first runs of a sketch that may hit the circuit. So if you hear it again, give yourself a second to see if I've improved and if not the you can heckle me to no end (I'll need the practice before I go on the road).

Now don't be mistaken, this is a one time offering from DanFlies.com. I don't believe I'll ever have this much desire to post something of original content. In the end I will be on the only one who reads and after a few months of self-inflicted ego bruising I could not take any more. So here it begins and ends, just like a bad story; one shot, one failure, nothing more nothing less.

I've hoped you enjoyed this bad story, even thought I don't think I made it to my main point. Oh well, maybe I'll care next year.
